Family History and Genealogy Workshop

The day begins with an introductory session explaining the importance of genealogy in preserving family and community memory. Facilitators will provide an overview of historical records, including census documents, employment registers, union archives, and personal letters, emphasizing how these sources can reveal both personal and societal histories.

Morning activities focus on practical research skills. Participants will learn how to navigate local archives, identify relevant documents, and verify historical information. Techniques for organizing and preserving research findings, including digital tools and databases, will be introduced.
